Design of the Courses and ClassesAt The Makeup Agenda, we pride ourselves on our flexibility which enables us to tailor our courses to suit each individual including those students with special needs. All our classes are kept small and intimate, allowing Paulette to give each student personalized attention. By working with each student on a one-on-one basis, Paulette is able to assess and develop her students’ strengths, enabling them to reach their full potential. As part of these comprehensive courses, students are taught the importance of good grooming and how to take excellent care of themselves, in line with our Code Book which outlines acceptable standards with regard to dress code, behavior and hygiene.
Theoretical and Practical TrainingPaulette emphasizes the importance of gaining practical, working experience. To achieve this, the courses consist of 20% theory and 80% practical work. them with a solid grounding through developing an in-depth understanding of the varied skills that are necessary for a successful career in this high profile industry.
Materials and ResourcesTo study at The Makeup Agenda, each student will need access to a digital camera, a printer and a laptop computer when their course commences and Paulette encourages students to buy their own professional quality MAQPro (by The Makeup Agenda) makeup kit. Our makeup kits are available as the smaller Homework kit or the larger Professional kit and both options come in a durable case complete with a Professional Brush Set. Students can view the make-up kit options and choose which set they would prefer to buy during their interview with Paulette. All students are provided with detailed manuals that provide all the theoretical information they need. The Makeup Agenda’s state-of-the-art studio, continually updated products and tools, as well as the outstanding professional MAQPro makeup range, offers students the opportunity to learn and to work with the very best that this industry has to offer.
CertificationAll students receive a certificate on completion of their course.
The Importance of a PortfolioWhen clients and industry professionals look for artists, they need to see the work that the artist has done in order to gauge their experience and competency levels. Class work and theory is not considered to be as valuable as genuine, hands-on experience. Students, by accompanying Paulette on professional photo shoots and fashion shows, are given the opportunity to gain firsthand experience under Paulette’s expert guidance, as well as compiling their own portfolios which are essential if they wish to find employment in this specialized industry.
